Dr. Aukerman joined Gem City Bone & Joint in 2006 and is a highly skilled specialist in Sports Medicine and complex Shoulder and Knee problems. Dr. Aukerman completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at the state-of-the-art University of Wisconsin facilities in Madison.
Dr. Aukerman is an Associate Master Instructor for advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques for the American Arthroscopy Association. At the Arthroscopy Association’s national headquarters in Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois, Dr. Aukerman teaches other orthopedic surgeons from around the nation and world, how to perform the newest and most advanced surgical procedures.
In fellowship, Dr. Aukerman was a team physician for the University of Wisconsin and the Big Ten Conference. He learned the expertise and skills necessary to take care of Division 1 level athletes. He has brought this expertise with him and is now a team physician at the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Aukerman has published multiple articles and has also published a recent book chapter in Surgical Techniques of the Shoulder, Elbow and Knee.
Dr. Aukerman currently sees patients in Laramie, Gillette, Casper, Green River and Rock Springs.
In his free time, Dr. Aukerman enjoys fly-fishing, waterskiing, mountain biking, skiing, volleyball, soccer, racquetball, hiking, camping, hunting, scuba diving, international travel and cultural studies.
